The Definition of URL
URL – a URL is the full address of a website, a web page, or an image or a document hosted used as part of a website. URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator.
Uniform Resource Locators or URLs are made up of several parts. These parts are the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), the subdomain, a domain name and a Top-Level Domain (TLD).
The ‘s’ in the HTTP means the connection to the website is encrypted. URLs, allow browsers and visitors to find websites and web pages. Without them, you would have to know a website’ or web pages IP number which would make things very difficult.
